A Very Rare Continental 60-Bore Percussion Superimposed Load Four-Shot Pistol
Mid-19th Century

With octagonal barrel made in one with the rectangular block-shaped mechanism housing beneath, the latter incorporating the hammers along the right side, the hammers firing in sequence via a slender plunger with copper disc for the thumb and acting against a pivoting sprung ratchet-wheel working on a bar-spring along the bottom of the mechanism housing, and figured rounded butt (broken through and repaired at the tang)
