A Full Armour In Italian 16th Century Style
19th Century Incorporating Earlier Elements

Comprising close-helmet with rounded 16th century skull, visor and lower-bevor (all with patched repairs and large internal reinforcing plates), the first rising to a roped comb and with tubular plume-holder incised with spiral lines at the rear, the second sharply-pointed with horizontal vision slits above a prominent roped lower edge, and with lifting peg on the right fitting into a slot in the upper edge of the later prow-shaped upper-bevor, the last shaped to the chin and with locking hook on the right, gorget of two neck-plates front and rear, the lower ones each with recessed turned and roped borders followed by dome-headed rivets on petalled brass washers, gorget of three plates front and rear, hinged together on the left and secured by a pin and keyhole catch on the right, the top plates with boldly turned and roped upper border, the front plates centrally cusped and with incised double line borders, 16th century breast-plate with medial ridge drawn-out to a blunt point and with turned and roped neck, moveable armhole gussets en suite, two-plate skirt and thigh length tassets en suite with the gorget, articulated vambraces, fingered gauntlets and full leg harness all en suite, the latter including poleyns each with ovoidal side-wing and articulated plates above and below, the bottom plates pierced for attaching the greaves, the latter each hinged together and with wide rounded-toes sabatons both of eight articulated plates (old surface patination and light surface rust): on a wooden stand mounted on a wooden plinth
