A Composite Civil War Period Harquebusier's Half-Armour
Mid-17th Century

Comprising a lobster-tailed pot with two-piece rounded skull with low turned comb with incised line following it on either side, pivoted pointed fall with recessed turned edge and carrying a three-bar face-guard joined at the bottom to form a bluntly scrolled point, neck-guard of three simulated lames with recessed turned border, later triangular ear-pieces each with border en suite, and dome-headed rivets (leathers replaced, pitted overall), breast-plate with medial ridge drawn-out to a point at the base above a narrow flanged skirt with turned edge, turned neck and arms followed by pairs of incised lines, back-plate en suite (old hole at the top), later adjustable shoulder-straps reinforced with steel plates secured by dome-headed brass rivets, and modern buff leather belt (pitting overall) (3)
