19th Century

Mostly lined in lead and cast, pierced and chased with the arms of Nicholson of Thelwall Hall, Cheshire, probably William (1816-1888): on a wooden board covered in blue velvet; the arms of the Shaw family of Arrowe Park, Cheshire, one formed as a silver brooch; and two circular carriage handles, each painted in polychrome with the arms of the Turton family of Upsall, Yorkshire (9)
