Footnotes

Provenance
Ralph Kenber Collection

Chinese symbols tied with ribbons were used as a border decoration on some of the earliest Worcester creamboats and sauceboats. This example should be compared with other hexagonal creamboats in the Alchin collection, lots 30-32 in this sale. A closely related creamboat was in the R David Butti Collection, Bonhams sale, 10 May 2006, lot 21.
