Cylindrical with a slightly spreading foot and a broad strap handle, painted in blue with the 'Prunus Fence' pattern (I.D.16), 8.9cm high, workman's mark

The ornamental fence is a recurring element in the early patterns and is derived from Chinese porcelain. They were invariably angled as evil spirits were supposed only to travel in straight lines.
