The Staghunt Pattern

The design undoubtedly has a Chinese origin, but the story is complicated as most examples of Staghunt pattern seen on Chinese porcelain were likely to have been enamelled in London. Some of the earliest Worcester pieces were probably painted in London also, but during the 1750s it became a popular pattern used at the Worcester factory in the reserved panels of crisply-moulded teawares. Still in production at the end of the 18th century, the Chamberlain factory in Worcester used the name 'Hunting in Compartments'.
