A Worcester coffee pot and cover, circa 1768-70

Of 'Warmstry Fluted' baluster shape, the scroll handle with pronounced thumbrest and the domed cover with a flower finial, transfer-printed in purple with the 'Tea Party no.2' and the 'Fortune Teller', classical ruins printed on the cover, and further formal decoration on the spout, the rims picked out in gold, 24cm high, square mark in underglaze blue (2)

This rare variant on the 'Tea Party no.2' print includes an attendant ready to serve tea to the seated couple and the unusual addition of an exotic cat amongst musical instruments in the foreground.
