Footnotes

Provenance
Ralph Kenber Collection

The shape is copied directly from contemporary Meissen, with even the crossed swords and painter's numeral 9 being used. For a similar teacup and saucer from the Zorensky Collection, see Bonhams sale, 23 February 2005, lot 44. The inclusion of an insect makes the current lot more unusual.
