Footnotes

Provenance
Ralph Kenber Collection

This European landscape style of painting was rare at Worcester and is more readily associated with Chelsea in the early 1750s. However, the Worcester version is enhanced by its moulded border and is much more thinly potted. A comparable teabowl from the Gwen and Ronald McKnight Melvin Collection was shown by Simon Spero in his 2007 exhibition, cat. no.37 and a related bowl and saucer dish from the Cohen Collection was exhibited by Albert Amor in the 1992 exhibition catalogue, nos.55 and 59
