A Worcester bottle vase, circa 1753-4

Of hexagonal baluster or 'onion' form, delicately painted with a Chinese figure wearing a pointed hat and carrying a long stick, the reverse with another standing beside a vase and holding a parasol, the remaining facets painted with floral sprays, a formal border below the rim, 12.3cm high

Footnotes

Provenance
Ralph Kenber Collection

Compare the style of the figure painting on this lot with that on the two hexagonal vases from the John Alchin Collection, lots 21-22. The painting here is more free, less stylised and certainly by a different hand.
