Kitagawa Utamaro (1753-1806)

Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1804
An oban tate-e print depicting a cortesan Karakoto of the house of Choji from the series Yukun nanakonmachi (Courtesans as the seven Komachi), with publisher's seal Sen, circa 1804, signed Utamaro hitsu, mounted on card, 37.8cm x 26cm (14 7/8in x 10¼in); together with probably a facsimile of Tadasugawara no yudachi (Shower at Tadasugawara) from the series Kyoto Meisho (Famous Places in Kyoto) after Hiroshige, framed and glazed, 22.5cm x 35cm (8 7/8in x 13¾in).
