16th century, late Gothic period
Depicting a Bishop surrounded by Royal court figures in Tudor dress within an architectural setting, set in a woven line border, 84cm high x 186cm wide

The size of the work suggest this piece could have been made as a sample for a larger work, perhaps a larger betrothal scene. For similar see: Christie's Fine European Furniture, Tapestries and Carpets, London, 16 November 2000, The Property of a Gentleman, lot 111
