Pascoe Thomas, styled "Teacher of Mathematicks on board the Centurion" on the title, kept a full daily journal of the incidents of the four-year navigation, His narrative, which includes an account of the treasure captured from the Nuestra Signora del Buono Carmelia, appeared three years prior to the official account.
