An unusual boar-tusk netsuke of a landscape with Mount Fuji
By Gan'ei, Iwami Province, circa 1830-1843
The tusk delicately engraved in kebori with Mount Fuji rising above a small village of rustic dwellings in the foreground, signed Toki Tenpo tojitsu Enokawa Gan'ei cho (carved by Gan'ei by the Eno River on a winter's day in the Tenpo period [1830-1843]). 11.1cm (4 3/8in).
