A boxwood netsuke of an adult walrus and pup

By Michael Webb (1934-2011), Yorkshire, England, circa 1980
The former resting, its body curled to the left protecting its offspring nuzzling into its side, their legs drawn in beneath, forming a compact composition, the eyes of both parent and pup inlaid, signed in a rectangular reserve MJW. 5.4cm (2 1/8in).
