By Ganko, Iwami Province, late 18th/early 19th century
Seated with its legs folded up to its chest and clasped by its left hand, its right arm outstretched to the side, the umimatsu of pronounced grain and the eyes inlaid, signed Ganko to (carved by Ganko). 12.6cm (5in) wide.
