By Kanman (1793-1859), Iwami Province, early 19th century
Carved from the tip of the horn, the god seated, his knees raised holding a large fan with one hand, the horn ideally suited to represent Fukurokuju's elongated bald head and of variegated colour, signed Kanman with a kao. 6.4cm (2½in).
