A kurogaki (black persimmon) wood netsuke of a minogame on driftwood
By Seiyodo Tomiharu (1733-1810), Iwami Province, dated 1796-7
The large turtle with long flowing tail walking over the striated section of driftwood, signed Sekiyo Enokawa Seiyodo Tomiharu kyonen rokujugosai shite kore o chokoku (carved at the age of sixty-five by the Eno River in Sekiyo by Seiyodo Tomiharu). 8.2cm (3¼in).
