By Kanman (1793-1859), Iwami Province, early 19th century
The frog, with distinctive markings in relief on its back, squatting on the underside of the upturned fungus, its eyes inlaid in horn, signed Iwami-no-kuni Kanman to (carved by Kanman in Iwami Province) with a kao. 4.5cm (1¾in).
