The large crab carved in high relief, resting at one end of a long, weathered section of driftwood, which bears a highly distinctive grain, signed in a sunken rectangular reserve Iwami-no-kuni Kanman to (carved by Kanman in Iwami Province) with a kao. 8.5cm (3 3/8in).
