Last of a series of limited-edition sports cars built by the Turin-based Carrozzeria Intermeccanica, the Indra is a real rarity. An Italian/American hybrid, the car was styled by Franco Scaglioni, hand-built entirely from steel in Italy, and powered by a Chevrolet Corvette 327ci (5.4-litre) V8 engine.
Number '25' of only 27 fastback coupés built, this example was delivered new in Italy and subsequently belonged to owners in Switzerland and France before coming to its present UK owner in 2016. The car remains un-restored, although repainted from its original Antilli Verde (mid green) to red and fitted with 15" wheels (original 14" spare retained). Always well maintained, this car has been spared the 'upgrades' that detract from other examples. It retains its original Chevrolet V8 engine and TH400 automatic transmission, which provide for both relaxed high-speed cruising and brisk acceleration in the best Gran Turismo tradition. Indeed, the owners have enjoyed using this car for continental touring, finding it surprisingly practical, reliable, and immense fun. Equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, electric windows, and air conditioning, it is a very modern feeling package.
'25' was featured in the June 2018 edition of Auto Italia (copy available), receiving a highly positive write-up, and whenever shown has been much admired. The previous owner resided in France where the car was registered until 2016. Copies of the lapsed French registration are in the history file together with a UK V5C Registration Certificate, UK MoT to March 2019 (no longer required), and receipts for maintenance and parts through the previous 7-8 years of ownership. A 2013 copy of Auto Collector (featuring this car) and a copy of Paula Reisner's definitive book on the marque ('Intermeccanica – The Story of the Prancing Bull') are included in the sale.

Dernière d'une série limitée de sportives construites par la Carrozzeria Intermeccanica basée à Turin, l'Indra est une vraie rareté. 25e sur seulement 27 coupés fastback construits, cet exemplaire a été livré neuf en Italie avant d'appartenir à des propriétaires basés en Suisse et en France, puis d'atterrir aux mains de son actuel propriétaire au Royaume-Uni en 2016. La voiture n'a jamais été restaurée, bien qu'elle ait été repeinte en rouge à la place de son Antilli Verde (vert moyen) d'origine et dotée de roues de 15 pouces (les 14 pouces originaux sont fournies). Toujours bien entretenue, cette voiture a échappé aux « améliorations » qui défigurent les autres exemplaires. Elle conserve son V8 Chevrolet d'origine et sa transmission automatique TH400 qui procurent à la fois une vitesse de croisière reposante et de formidables accélérations dans la meilleure tradition Gran Turismo. Ses propriétaires ont apprécié la voiture pour des virées sur le continent, la trouvant incroyablement pratique, fiable et agréable à conduire. Équipée d'une direction et de freins assistés, de vitres électriques et de l'air conditionné c'est une voiture très moderne.
Ce 25e exemplaire figure dans l'édition 2018 de Auto Italia (exemplaire fourni), où elle a reçu un commentaire élogieux et a toujours été admirée partout où elle est apparue. Son précédent propriétaire résidait en France où la voiture fut immatriculée jusqu'en 2016. Un exemplaire de l'immatriculation française figure au dossier avec un certificat d'immatriculation UK V5C, un certificat du MoT valable jusqu'en mars 2019 (il n'est plus exigé) et des factures d'entretien et de pièces des sept ou huit années passées aux mains du précédent propriétaire. Un numéro Auto Collector de 2013 (où figure la voiture) et de l'indispensable livre de Paula Reisner sur la marque (Intermeccanica – The Story of the Prancing Bull) font également partie du lot.

Please note that this car was driven by the vendor from the UK to Chantilly earlier this week performing perfectly. When entering the premises the car's exhaust manifold caught the gate stop at the entrance to the grounds causing damage to the exhaust manifold and the starter motor. A replacement manifold is supplied with the car.
Merci de noter que le vendeur a amené l'auto à Chantilly par la route depuis l'Angleterre sans aucun problème. En arrivant dans l'enceinte du Château et suite à un obstacle au sol, le collecteur d'échappement ainsi que le démarreur ont été endommagés. Un collecteur de remplacement sera fourni avec la voiture.
