A Meissen porcelain and gilt-metal-mounted centrepiece, the porcelain circa 1730-35

Formed from two large circular covers, both brightly painted in Kakiemon style with, on each side a red tiger-like winged beast confronting a dancing crane, the top cover surmounted by a modelled cockerel on a stump with pomegranates, mounted in gilt-metal with a reticulated collar and supported by three acanthus scroll feet above a marble base, 49cm overall height (2)
