A Meissen silver-mounted lobed ecuelle and cover, circa 1729-31

Painted in Kakiemon style with flowering branches of peonies issuing from stylised rockwork and scattered insects, mounted with silver handles embellished with scrollwork and shells, the cover similarly decorated surrounded by a border of turquoise scrolls interspersed with iron-red flowerheads between iron-red lines, the finial in the shape of a foliate branch, 12.2cm high, 20.8cm across handles, caduceus mark in underglaze-blue, crossed swords mark in blue enamel (2)
