A very rare Chinese Kangxi Hausmaler plate decorated in the Preissler workshop, circa 1720

Painted in the workshop of Daniel and Ignaz Preissler, Kronstadt, in iron-red embellished in gilding with flowers issuing from stylised rockwork in the well and trailing flower branches around the brown-edged rim, further decorated in black monochrome heightened in gilding with chinoiserie figures, buildings and exotic animals, with stylised rockwork, flowering branches and palm trees around the rim, 22.1cm diam.
