A Chinese porcelain beaker decorated in the Preissler workshop, circa 1720

Painted in the workshop of Daniel and Ignaz Preissler, Kronstadt, of gently flared shape and of almost eggshell thinness, painted in black heightened with gilding with an extensive and continuous landscape in which stands a figure of a woman emblematic of 'Flora', placing into her apron a garland of flowers and fruit, flanked by trees and with a river behind, the reverse with a palatial house, various diminutive figures in the foreground, 7.3cm high, marked with an auspicious emblem in underglaze-blue (filled chips and a fine crack)
