A Meissen silver-gilt-mounted Hausmaler coffee pot and cover, circa 1725

Decorated in Augsburg in the Seuter workshop in gilding, the pear-shaped body applied in high relief with birds perched on flowering branches and another bird in flight, the cover with three similar applied branches, the reliefs gilded, the ground in between richly gilded with Chinoiserie scenes, numerous figures by trees, including a dragon, the largest vignette below the spout surmounted by a canopy, in addition birds on branches gilded on the shoulder and on the cover, the Augsburg silver gilt mounts comprising a hinged fitting with acanthus leaves around the cover and another hinged cap on top of the spout, the circular foot also held in place with acanthus leaves, the silver maker's mark PS probably for Paul Solanier, 23cm high (silver-gilt flower finial possibly later)
