A very rare early Meissen beaker, circa 1715

Of campana shape on a neatly turned circular foot, decorated in the workshop of George Funcke, Dresden with a band of gilt foliate scrollwork below the rim, a smaller scrollwork band just above the gilt footrim, the interior in brightly burnished gold, 7.1cm high (tiny chips)

The rare elegant form with gilt, everted footrim and richly gilt interior also suggests an early date of manufacture.
