8vo (212 x 135 mm). 5 engraved plates. Contemporary gilt morocco, upper cover of binding stamped to Son Altesse Imperiale, Le Grand Duc Nicolas de Russie, edges gilt, publisher's wrappers bound in. Corners and edges rubbed, light spotting.

A presentation copy by the author to the Grand Duke Nicholas, then later apparently by de Greaux's father to his nephew. Additional loose half-title inscribed by the author to his lawyer.
