A HILARY KNIGHT DESIGNED MAQUETTE FOR ELOISE.

An unused, hand-assembled maquette for an audio edition of Eloise to be read by Liza Minelli, color xerox with ink additions, with dummy CD, box and new endpapers, assembled by Hilary Knight, using a standard trade edition of Eloise, 290 x 210 mm, some wear to box.

Done for a presentation for Simon & Schuster, the project was never completed. Of particular note are the ink additions to the fold-out plate showing an antic Liza running through the floors of the Plaza, three more manuscript sketches of Liza having lunch, and those showing her rushing this way and that. Incorporated into the existing illustration, these additions prove that no detail is too small.
