A George Hurrell signed and numbered limited edition oversized photograph of Katharine Hepburn

Photographic print mounted on board, limited edition, signed ("Hurrell") in lower right corner and numbered 31/60 in lower left corner. At the time of this portrait session with George Hurrell in 1941, Hepburn was still riding the wave of success from her film, The Philadelphia Story (1940), initially a play to which she had purchased the rights and performed on the stage before commencing work on the film. Arguably at her most beautiful, this closeup focuses on Hepburn's unique facial features, glamorizing her famously downturned mouth and strong cheekbones and capturing her independent nature.
36 x 48 in.
