A Clark Gable early signed photo
Silver gelatin doubleweight photograph, matte finish, with "Bruno of Hollywood" photographer stamp at lower left, inscribed, "To Lucille / 'What Price Glory' / Now / Clark Gable" in black ink. As a member of the West Coast Road Company, Gable appeared as Private Kiper and was upgraded to the role of Sargent Quirt in the 1926 Los Angeles stage production of What Price Glory? The play was so successful that it eventually became a touring production. The stage offered Gable the perfect training ground for films, and he spent over 15 weeks performing in this particular production. Signed photographs from this period of Gable's career are very rare.
