In Honoring The Western Tradition: The L.D. "Brink" Brinkman Collection, S.H. McGarry wrote of the present work:
"L.D. 'Brink' Brinkman commissioned an early Tischler sculpture, this powerful portrait of a champion Brangus bull, which, like its flesh and blood subject, wears the Brinkman brand . . . In a recent statement he noted, 'Beyond anatomical accuracy, typical behaviors and postures, I strive to capture a life-like presence, character, dignity and elegance. Through my art I want to communicate a powerful message: These are wonderful creatures that deserve our respect and protection.'"1
