"The unsung hero of the Cavalry, the trooper's horse was always ready to serve. He ran the gamut of personalities and types but, just like any true friend, he was accepted and loved for what he was. Every man knew that on his horse depended life itself. This bronze depicts Civil War period horse equipments. The horse is 'picketed' but alert, as he waits for his master to return with his orders."
