Accompanying this lot is a Certificate of Authenticity issued by the artist. Included on this certificate is the following description:

"Horseshoeing is often all in a day's work for many cowboys. The chaps this one is fastening are my own that I made myself. Likewise, the hat, boots, anvil, shoe'n box, and tools are all depictions of my own gear. Even the old stump is the same one I've used many times while doing my own shoe'n."
