The present work was cast posthumously and likely under the direction of the Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Utah. The Wasatch Bronzeworks was founded by Wesley Neil Hadlock in Lehi, Utah, and flourished from the mid-1970s to mid-1980s. The foundry cast at least two other known works by Dallin — Pretty Eagle and a monumental version of Appeal to the Great Spirit, which was dedicated in the artist's hometown of Springfield, Utah to the Springfield Museum of Art in 1974.1
