Another example of this life size version of The Legend of the Sand Dollar stands in a fountain at the entrance to the Corpus Christi Museum, in Corpus Christi, Texas. According to Coleman Art, this sculpture illustrates a religious legend, which centers on two children, pictured here on the beach. The boy has broken a shell and released five doves who represent good will and peace. An image of this bronze also appeared on a commemorative coin which celebrated the 25th anniversary of the museum.1
