A good rosewood four glass traveling clock with soft / loud striking option
Signed, Viner, 235 Regent St., London
Date: Mid 19th century
Movement: Twin chain fusees, substantial plates joined by five turned pillars, gilt platform English style lever escapement with cut and compensated bimetallic balance, striking the hour on a gong with switch to reposition hammer for soft / loud
Dial: Gilt rectangular, engraved with foliate scrolls, roman chapter ring, blued Breguet hands
Case: The gilt octagonal section handle with scroll uprights over beveled glass panels to the stepped top and sides above an ogee molded plinth base on gilt bun feet
Signed: Dial and movement
Size: 10 ¾ in (27.5cm) high including handle
Accompaniments: Winding and door keys
