A Dutch painted iron and brass striking chamber clock with alarm
Date: Late 17th century
Movement: Posted frame with turned brass corner columns, brass wheelwork, thread suspended verge escapement with iron balance wheel, striking the hour on a bell above the frame by means of a count wheel, separately wound alarm mounted on strap behind dial plate
Dial: Painted roman chapter ring and alarm setting disc mounted on rectangular front plate enhanced with gilt foliate scrolls on green ground
Case: With latched hinged painted iron side panels and brass pierced scroll frets around the top mounted bell, raised on turned wood feet
Size: 15 ½ in (39 cm ) high
