Footnotes
Edouard Koehn (1839 – 1908) joined the firm of Patek Philippe in 1861. By 1876, he had become one of the five directors of the company. He retired in 1891 to produce fine precision and complicated watches of his own design. He specialized in thin dress watches which he supplied to American jewelers, notably Tiffany.
The present watch is based on US patent 731789 of 1903 which incorporated a full size escapement and powerful spring barrel in a particularly thin configuration.
