A fine and rare engraved gilt miniature carriage timepiece
Signed "Made by J. F. Cole for R. & S. Garrard, Panton Street, Haymarket"
Date: Mid 19th century
Movement: Rectangular plates joined by four screwed pillars, chain fusee, platform right angle lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance with timing screws and trapezoidal weights
Dial: Silvered rectangular engraved with flowers and scrolls, roman chapter ring, blued fleur-de-lys hands
Case: On tapered feet, with grooved columns and ball finials to the corners, handle chased with scrolls, the side panels with heraldic devices, the back with mounted knights
Size: 5 ¼ in (13.3cm) high including handle
Accompaniments: Associated red leather case
