A fine patinated and gilt brass hour striking and repeating giant carriage clock
Signed Payne & Co., 163 New Bond Street, London, no. 5868
Date: Mid 19th century
Movement: Twin fusees, lever escapement planted vertically on the back plate, plain three arm balance, striking the hour on a gong and repeating by means of a button on side panel
Dial: Gilt circular within hinged gilt bezel, roman chapter ring enclosing winding apertures in the scroll engraved center, blued Breguet hands
Case: On gilt bun feet, the patinated block base supporting reeded corner columns and block pediment with gilt reeded finials and handle, with engine turned patinated side and front panels and scroll pierced back door

Size: 9 ¾ in (24.7cm) high including handle
