A remarkable patinated, gilt and cloisonné enamel Egyptian Revival repeating carriage clock
Date: Late 19th century
Movement: Silvered platform with right angle lever escapement, striking the hour and half hour and repeating the hour on gong
Dial: Cloisonné enamel depicting stylized falcons and sphinxes flanking the chapter ring with Egyptian numerals, blued hands
Case: On patinated base with applied cloisonné panels of the winged sun between gilt vignettes of Anubis, well modeled standing figures of guardians on the canted corners the patinated pediment enhanced with gilt panels of lotus and winged sun, faceted and ringed handle with gilt bearded masks at the corners
Size: 8 ¾ in (22cm) high including handle
Accompaniments: Fitted case, winding key
