A rare early 19th century Swiss gilt and patinated bronze, grande sonnerie striking travel clock with centre seconds and calendar, with original key.

The architectural case with stepped top carrying the serpentine handle over a dentil moulded cornice on Corinthian pilasters on plinths over acanthus leaf ball feet, with solid rear door spring-loaded to reveal the original, and setting and winding key opening to reveal the original the matt silvered engine turned dial with regulation arc over the Roman chapter ring and twin calendar subsidiaries for day and date, with good gold and blued steel hands, the two train movement with chain fusee to the going train with fusee and verge escapement and plain brass balance held within a bridge cock, the strike train with spring barrel sounding the hours and the quarters on a pair of graduated bells positioned above the plates. Ticking and striking, together with the original operating key fitted into lugs to the inside of the back door.
