A mid 17th century brass lantern clock with 'Matchstick Man' casting mark

Jeffery Bailey at ye turne Stile in Holborn (sic)
surmounted by a large strapped bell over pierced and engraved addorsed dolphin frets, the central fret signed along the lower edge, over a Roman chapter ring with single hand reading against wheatear half hour markers and inner quarter hour track, enclosing a ring of roses centre and Arabic alarm setting dial, the weight driven movement with (re-instated) brass balance wheel and verge escapement, and countwheel strike on the bell, 40cms (16ins) high.

Footnotes

The hour wheel is cast twice with the 'Matchstick Man' mark.
