A good late 19th century French mid-sized gilt brass gorge cased striking carriage clock with four porcelain panels.
Numbered 1450
The ribbed handle over a bevelled glass and four pink porcelain panels depicting cherubs within gilt rectangular borders representing earth, fire and water, the matching Roman dial decorated with playful cherubs within a gilt and jewelled border, the silvered lever platform escapement with compensated bimetallic balance, striking the hours on a blued-steel gong. Ticking and striking, together with a double ended winding key. 12cm (4 1/2 ins) high (2)
