The handle and frame cast as imitation bamboo stalks enclosing the three large enamel side panels depicting Middle Eastern scenes in the Orientalist manner, the painted Roman dial with brass hands against a North African coastal scene of a figure on a beach with cliffs and a fortress in the background, the twin train movement with silvered platform lever escapement with compensated bimetallic balance, sounding the hours and half-hours on a blued-steel gong. Together with a stamped double ended winding key. 20cm (7 1/2ins) (3)
