The crosshead guide bars are bolted to a central spectacle plate with tapered rectangular section con-rods. The leading and trailing axle springs are housed within the outer frames. The central drivers have leaf springs set above the curved frame, which is painted black and red with straw lining and supports pierced splashers painted pale green and black with straw lining. The smokebox contains the steam manifold and exhaust nozzle pipes, a typical Hawthorn Lesley steam dome cover again painted green and black with straw lining.
