AN AMERICAN LOCOMOTIVE FIVE CHIME WHISTLE AND VALVE LEVER,

the whistle was fitted to a locomotive in Australia and was designed to have an audible radius of 25 miles, in order to alert isolated sheep farm railway halts. The whistle was given by the New South Wales Government to Captain Howie during his visit there to commemorate the building of the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Railway.
