A FULL-SIZE SINGLE CYLINDER OSCILLATING WORKSHOP ENGINE, circa 1875,

the horizontal brass-bound, mahogany-lagged cylinder is 2½in bore x 4in stroke, has a cover-mounted draincock and runs between frame-mounted cast bronze capped trunnions. The piston rod has a shaped gunmetal split bearing, driving a round webbed crank with fly and pulley wheels, box cam-driven inclined feed pump with manual air valve. Finished in green and brightwork, 13¼in (34cm) high, 21¾in (55cm) wide
